Description

Slytherin was founded by Salazar Slytherin, the medieval Wizard who valued certain characteristics when came to the world of wizardary. Salazar instructed the Sorting Hat to choose students who showed certain characteristics and traits such as resourcefulness, cunning and ambition. Salazar Slytherin also favoured wizards and witches of pure-blood due to his mistrust of those born to Muggle parents.

The Slytherin emblem is that of a snake and the house colours are Green and Silver which are said to correspond with the waters around the lakes and lochs and the silvers representing the grey rain water.

Slytherin is headed by Severus Snape and the Houses Patron Ghost is the Bloody Baron.
